Artist Statement:

Beauty and sensuality are the most elusive subjects to me. The pursuit of beauty mixed with the dissonance my own mortality drives me to paint. I examine the fine line between allure and darker undertones. The curvaceous quality of the forms in my paintings are representative of womanhood. Each oil painting is energized by my life and specific emotions I am feeling at the time. Color relationships and compositional movement are exciting to me and are topics I explore often. The visual content of my work includes drapery, the human figure, portraiture, and still life. My work is influenced by both traditional realism and contemporary color field abstraction. Some painters I am inspired by are William-Adolphe Bouguereau and Mark Rothko.
